Writer | Proofreader | Wanderluster

As the days pass by as a Copywriter by day, Netflix binge-watcher by night, I find my (fiction writing) creative juices making a few, not-so-random appearances. And I confess, I have indulged in the slow-burning ideas for a bit.

Of course, it is way too soon to say anything concrete about this little new project of mine, but let’s just say, it’s brewing. This time, unlike the other times I’ve written, I am doing it slow and steady, trying to get some structure first, like getting some research done first, identifying the conflict and resolution and of course, come up with a mind-blowing ending. This is totally different from my previous writing process, where I would just type words on a blank screen and see where my fingers take me.

I’ve also had the chance to visit the library lately, where I found two books that seemed to be offer the advice for my lil’ book project. And I was right! I started with Scratch -Writers, Money, And the Art of Making a Living, edited by Manjula Martin and then moved to The Art of Slow Writing by Louise DeSalvo.

The first was a reminder of my own freelancing days and is still something that I need to think about if I get back to freelancing once again. The second has been an inspiring read about the importance of slow writing, which is something I am doing right now.

In conclusion, I am excited to be on this journey of creating and learning. While it may take a little time to get to the destination (aka a complete book) I have a feeling the journey to write this book will be as rewarding as the end result.

Wish me luck while I set off on my next writing adventure!
